Civility When It Is Hardest
Over the past few weeks, I shared some thoughts on X/Twitter about civility and compassion given recent events. I believe they are worth noting here so that residents know more about me and the values I have.
My Thoughts
I sincerely wrestled with the issue of rent stabilization since I was elected to the City Council last November. I studied the County’s bill after it was passed and have been following their process toward implementation.

Rockville City Council candidates call to delay hiring city manager until after election
“Marissa Valeri, who is also running for City Council, said she also thinks the hiring process should be managed by the new council, but that she doesn’t think it would be finished before the election anyway. ’The whole process takes so long — the vetting, the whole interview process … it’s just inconceivable that it would happen before the election,’ she said.”
