Take the Pledge this September 22

Every year on September 22nd, folks around the DC Metro area take the day off from driving their car. I have personally taken the pledge each year since I found out about it. But why?

I believe that even the smallest act to save our environment is an important one. My primary modes of transportation are walking and using public transit. It is part of why I love Rockville: being able to go shopping or go out to eat or go to an event without using a car is important to me. There will always be a need for a car, but the less we have to drive is a good thing.
