Marissa is a Rockville resident, MCPS mom, pedestrian and community advocate residing in Twinbrook.

Marissa Valeri was born and raised in Wheaton, Maryland and has lived the majority of her life here in Montgomery County. She is the proud daughter of a former public school teacher and Coast Guard reservist and a working Mom employed by the National Geographic Society. She graduated from Albert Einstein High School and the University of Maryland Global Campus.

For the past 13 years, her family has lived in Rockville both as renters and as home owners - first in East Rockville and then in Twinbrook. As a full time working Mom, she has benefited from the amazing child care options here as well as the City’s before and after school recreation programs.

Professionally, Marissa has been employed in the non-profit sector for 27 years with a focus on health care access and physician associations. She’s seen the effect of health policies from the Federal level to the State level to the County level, but enjoys City policy the most.

Marissa has served on the Executive Committee of the Twinbrook Community Association for the past 5 years - as the President, Vice President, and Member at Large for South of Veirs Mill Road. She helped co-found the Rockville Pedestrian Advocacy Committee, and served on the City’s most recent Charter Review Commission.

In her spare time, she enjoys working in her native plant garden and her vegetable garden as well as tending her indoor houseplants. She happily lives in Twinbrook with her husband, son, two rescue dogs and two rescue cats.
