Valeri’s campaign said in a statement that she is the only Council candidate from the east side of Rockville Pike to declare their candidacy so far. The filing deadline for submitting a nominating petition is September 8, 2023.”

ROCKVILLE, MD — Long-time Montgomery County resident and community leader Marissa Valeri kicked off her campaign on July 22 as a candidate for one of the six open seats on the Rockville City Council.

“Marissa Valeri, chair of the Rockville Pedestrian Advocacy Committee, had previously stated to MoCo360 that RPAC observed through its data that Viers Mill and Rockville Pike were the two of the most dangerous roads in terms of traffic collisions and pedestrians and bicyclists being hit.”

“People are almost blasé about [pedestrian and bicyclist collisions],” said Marissa Valeri, chair of the Rockville Pedestrian Advocacy Committee. “And I don’t think folks think through that a critical injury is not a fatality moment [but] these are serious implications for individuals for the rest of their life.”

I’m here tonight because Twinbrook is a wonderful [neighborhood] with a very large population of recent immigrants,” Marissa Valeri of Rockville said. “I tried to get folks to come here and testify and they’re scared and frightened that they will be deported.
